Our prayers are with you as you prepare for the funeral liturgy.  Our parish is fortunate to have a professional music staff.  We are here to assist you in your faith journey and to ensure the transcendent beauty of the liturgy is sustained.       

 

Since the church funeral is usually a Mass, its structure and components are set by church history and practice. We handle all the planning, ensuring the liturgy will be beautiful.  In addition to the organist/pianist, a staff cantor will be present to lead in song.  At times, an experienced musician family member or friend may wish to contribute by singing a solo during this time.  A prelude, offertory or Communion meditation selection would be welcome with approval from the Director of Music.       

 

Other than scheduling the Mass, you will not need to discuss any details of the Mass with the funeral home (readings, music, etc). The funeral homes do not always have the most up-to-date information regarding our procedures and customary practices.  Therefore we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information they might offer you regarding the funeral liturgy.

The parish music department utilizes our customary setting of the Mass Ordinary, Responsorial Psalm, Gospel Acclamation and during the final prayers the Gregorian Chant, "In Paradisum."
