The St. John Newman Men’s Club provides outlets for the service, spiritual and social dimensions for the men of the parish. The club and its members participate in the life of the church, are involved in the projects and ministries of the parish, and provide physical, emotional, spiritual and financial resources where and when they are needed. The club reaches out to the community, the archdiocese, and to society at large through service that reflects our role as disciples of Christ. Their values are simple and enduring:

Committed to Christ, our families and the community

Generous in spirit and deed

Willing to work and guaranteed to have fun

Opening and welcoming to all men of the parish

The Men’s Ministry mission and how it links to the greater Parish mission is as follows:

  • Service inside and outside the Parish: Community pillar

  • Faith Development: Discipleship pillar

  • Community Building: Sustainability pillar

  • Fellowship: links to all three pillars

The organization’s activities include events and activities such as:

  • Fellowship Every Other Month – 3rd Thursday of the month (rotating locations)

  • Participation in Liturgical Ministry as ushers, lectors, eucharistic ministers

  • Easter Food Drive to replenish St. Agnes of Bohemia’s pantry

  • Men’s Overnight Retreat

  • Parish Golf Outing

  • Outreach partners to local Evanston organizations

  • Joint outings with Youth Ministry such as NU sporting events

  • Providing labor on short notice to support the Parish and School

  • Open to other ideas that fit with the Group’s mission

Membership is open to all adult Men of the Parish and is free of charge.
